Fitting a auto vent

Hi all

Finally finished my greenhouse, but cannot fit the auto vent opener without it touching the glass!! Has anyone suggestions? Will post some pics soon of my prized new possession :D

 

Hi Mowgley have you tried taking the glass out?

Seriously. Post a close up piccie of the problem.

 

yep tried that. Bit dark at the moment to take a pic! It's the upper arm that touchs the glass on the window. I can set it with the window shut then once the window opens it starts resting on the glass!!

I think the problem may be that the two ends of the opener are designed to be a certain distance apart, (difficult to explain), when the vent is closed.
If they are too close for the fitting, the arm moves upwards touching the glass.
I had a similar problem years ago with the old Halls vent openers.

 

got the vent with the greenhouse package, so you would have thought that it would be compatiable. Will have another bash tomorrow and see though have tried it on all the different hole settings!

 

maybe you have to fit the auto vent opener before the glass go's in!

How about having words with the greenhouse supplier/maufacturer.

 

Had the same problem mowgley..As Pete says,it's a matter of getting the fixing brackets in the exact spot....Have to say, took me blinkin ages to find them though.

Hi all again

After starting at 9 this morning and i was bl**dy cold. There was a frost on the inside and outside!!! i managed to get everything done. Sorted the auto vent like you said paladin it took ages to find the right settins but got there in the end!! Just need a couple of extra bags of pea shingle for the floor then i can get my bench's in! Since i have started gardening i have found out that i do have some patentience lol !! :D
