    Thats a really interesting flower BM, can we see a long shot of the whole spike.
    That close up it almost looks like a willow flower. [​IMG]

    :D I will have to go take one pete, I couldn't get a good photo of it as the light isn't right. Gets lost in everything else and I can't get back far enough to get it all in. I will have another go [​IMG]

    Thats a strange one BM,it looks as if the whole flower is male.
    Do male and female flowers form on different plants, do you know?
    Thing is, will the rosette now die?

    I don't think they die after flowering but they do take time to recover in terms of form ?

    So much pollen I got covered moving it about.

    I saw a programme where they used the dried stems for making fires. The wood is ideal for spinning on itself to produce embers. Popular with Indians apparently.

    This is someone elses whose flowered recently, a bit bigger than mine.
