Can you use the underlay that is used when laying a laminate floor as a fleece for a cold spell in the tunnel.
The type of underlay in question is the light opal-ish in colour woven foam stuff on a roll 2/3mm thick, or is there a light passing problem uv etc. The reason I ask is because this underlay comes in a large roll and is very light weight and very cheap, this might be the case at some suppliers but if you go direct to a flooring company it is.

I would think it would be ok, I used to be in the flooring business before I was ill, and I used to get asked for the felt underlay, We used to use this a lot on certain instalations, that was good for a fleece, And also it was very good for putting on the bench and wetting it, ideal as a capillary mat hope you have some luck with it Russ :thmb:

Is this the plastic foam type stuff that is sometimes used for packing fragile objects?

If so, I use it as a frost cover which I roll over the top of my cold frame.
I think its a good insulator, but I dont leave it in place all the time as it does block a lot of light.

I doubt that this foam is as transparent to moisture as fleece is, so for short term use OK, but long term use, such as over the whole winter, could cause problems with mould etc. You could unwind it on warm days though.
