Flowers picked today

It was lovely and sunny this morning, so I thought I would clear the borders ready for spreading manure to break down over winter, even though there's quite a bit of foliage left on many plants.

I didn't expect to come back indoors with a bunch of flowers but I made a bouquet of gaillardias and erysimum Bowles Mauve. It's a bit wispy, but pretty and certainly unusual for December.
