On my commute into work this morning the fog and the sunrise were stunning, my photos don't do it justice:

Did you get the sun reflecting from the top of the mist effect?

I see that travelling along a ridge above a local river valley, and have seen it more dramatically in the Lake District with shining rivers of mist flowing through valleys, also in Snowdonia sat on the top of a peak sticking only a few metres above a shining sea of mist.

Blimey, hope he didn't take his hands off the steering wheel to take those photos :heehee:
For some reason I assumed the "commute" was by train? :dunno:

I thought maybe he was driving and stopped to take in the view and a photo as that's what I would have done...lol... but then we don't get views like that where I live!

Yes, I often see it along the Hog's Back (a long ridge at the end of the North Downs), the road runs along the top and you can see over both sides. I like the trees poking through the fog/mist too.

                        :)

It's a very busy dual carriageway with no-where to stop so I had to turn off and drive down into the valley. It's not easy to find a place to take photos above the fog, I had to get out the car and walk a bit to some gaps in the hedge. I had another go at finding a better location this morning but it's all private drives so gave up.
