I'm in & out of the garden pretty much all day & I need some kind of footwear which is really easy to slip on & off that I can keep by the back door, Ive looked at some rubber clog type shoes in Homebase which would have been ideal but I have very wide feet & found them to be very tight! just wondered if anyone has any links or suggestions for something else? they need to be waterproof as I'm often going to & fro from the greenhouse when its wet!

I use wellies if its wet or if I'm farmyard manuring with slippers just inside conservatory for popping in for tea etc. I think good footwear is vital if you are digging but anything will do just for pottering about.

LOL Lisa your husband must be a very happy man, pvc cat suit and pink stillettos - wow.

Lady Gardener - whilst I use the ordinary wellie shoes (not clogs) to pull on quickly - you may like the clogs find them tight - so as a thought how about the plastic overshoes that they wear in operating theatres. They just pull over whatever shoes or slippers your wearing (not stillettos though) :D

I like the sound of Lisa's pink stilettos and catsuit though, could be useful for aerating the lawn. This requires further investigation (and pictures :D )

Wellies are all right for short periods if its wet but for all day wearing your feet either get frozen (even with thick woollen socks or your feet sweat so much they become 'unplesant'. For warmth and safety I prefer my own Cats (Caterpillar steel toecap boots) or just for pottering a pair of trainers.

I have just the thing, they are from a company called Muck Boot Co. who sell a range of boots for horse riding (Tyne), wellies (Tack) and short boots called Wear - I sell them in my tack shop and we ship them all over UK, the short boots were bought in for a lady who rides and whose husband gardens for a living - after he bought them their son also bought some, since then I think most gardeners in our area must bed wearing them, they are warm and waterproof and are around £35.00 plus postage, if you like the look of them but have problems finding them let me know and I could post them out to you
(PS I already have the wellie version of these so I use these for gardening)

I think we male gardeners would love a photo, lisa. If you dressed like that down the allotments I can imagine loads of new gardeners starting up, just how much work they would do I don't know. We could become overwhelmed with new members.
