I have been spending a lot of time sorting my photographs out as since I've had my Fuji things haven't been as organised as I like them to be

Anyway, in doing so I came across some lovely photos which have brught back sweet memories and I would like to share them with you.

I'll start off with Skwij and Puschka, brother and sister who we got from a farm in Tring, Hertfordshire, and they travelled around with us. They died, Skwij aged 13 and Puschka aged 15 here and are buried under the Almond tree ....

The above two photos are copied from prints as I didn't 'do' digital at the time.

Mr Red was not ours but suddenly adopted us this Spring and promptly moved in only to die within a month ... our boys, Boo and Cal, took to him so they knew what it was all about ... we buried him in the orange orchard from whence he came ...

My darling Magic Sam aka Boo because when he was younger he was scared of hs own shadow. Since he has been here he has become very confident, he just turned 14 ...

I love this one on a stack of cushions like the Prince and the Pea ...

    Having a quick catnap ...

We then found Candida aka Candi and Calvos aka Cal in a plastic bag by the rubbish bins in 34c temps just as they had been born ... here they are in a more comfortable position ...

Camdi was a tart and liked the boys, would wander off and at aged 11 months died at the end of our lane .... we had her cremated and she is buried with Skwij and Puschka and some of her ashes were scattered where she liked to roam ....

I took this pic a couple of days before she died and I said then she looked like she was about to go off somewhere beyond ....

Her brother Cal (a sandwich short of a picnic as he was virtually dead when we found him) is now 3 1/2 and a joy to have around, he just loves life and deserves it ...

He's very photogenic but I especially love the two following of him ...

... and just a couple of more fun ones of him ... he loves the shade sail so was wondering what was under it .... and helping the builders with some works ....

A few months ago we took on another waif abandoned at birth by the rubbish bins, Chere Khan aka Munchkin (because she does) and she has her own link up here ...

Well, there are some of the good ones ... fortunately for you a lot are not on digital or I might bore you to tears.

Hope you feline lovers enjoyed. k-l

Took two of my guys to the vet yesterday, yearly check up, annual shots, they both are good until 2011.
But this one Phantom weights 17.2 lbs. and he let the vet scrap of some tarter on this teeth. Poor guy was so scared did not move a muscle.

This is the one that climbs a tree next to the garage, jumps from the tree on the roof and runs on the roof and then jumps from the one roof a span of 6 feet to the second garage then down on the wood pile and off he goes, he loves ever minuet of it. So no he' not fat, just big and muscled. Try putting flea drops on him, takes all my might to hold him down.

Great memories for you Vicky, they all had a good (in some cases, definitely better) life.:thumb:

Ours has just had her teeth cleaned but has to be knocked out or the Vet would have no skin on his hands otherwise. (£100 poorer for it but if you have pets.....):)

Phantom, the big 17.2 lb guy above did have some tarter on his teeth. He was so "not moving a muscle scared" that the vet could scrap off the two teeth what were yuckie. Good for me less money.

Yep Randy Ros, he's a big one. When I pick him up, it really is a weight. And so solid he is. Even the vet says he's very strong when he tried to move on her.

Red, blimey that's certainly one big cat!!

Yeah... we sure love our pets don't we.

Thank you cat lovers .... k-lk-lk-l and redstar your boy is certainly a good sized one.

Portuguese cats are tiny in comparison to English or American cats. You can tell from the photos. Magic Sam is possibly around 15lbs, Cal was weighed today* and is 10.5lbs, looks slim but is solid as a rock.

Borrowers, Red was 'weightless' in that photo as he was dying, poor soul, but I'm sure he was a big one in his heyday.

      * Now, Cal was weighed today as we had to have an emergency trip to the vet. Yesterday morning he was limping and didn't even get up for breakfast this morning .... :skp: .... and wouldn't put his right front paw down, so on examination I found it swollen and a puncture wound in it. Phoned the vet at 10.30 and got an 11.30 appointment (every 30 minutes here). Full examination ... weight, temperature (in a place where no one likes it), heart/lung check, eyes/ears/nose/mouth and of course the injured leg. He actually had a puncture on either side of the leg between the paw and elbow and the vet said he was obviously bitten but there was no infection.

Now, Cal sleeps in the crook of my legs/at my feet and every morning without fail (Magic Sam) Boo attacks him around 7am ... alarm system me'thinks. :help: Yesterday morning there was the usual skirmish and some growling and yelping (then me shouting). So I think Boo bit him ... not intentionally but Boo had the top 1 inch of his leg removed right at the hip joint when he was about 8 months old and it never set propertly (expensive UK operation) and it's very sensitive ... so I think something went on there. Just a couple of months ago Boo was on my lap watching TV late evening and I shifted and went to move him and obviously hit the 'spot' and he turned around and bit me, blood drawn and I have the scar to prove it .....

So, back to Cal .... after all the above first doses of medication was given and there's 8 days of antibiotics as a precaution and 5 days of anti-inflammatory tablets. Total bill was â?¬44.30, â?¬28 consultancy and â?¬16,30 medication which I don't think is extortionate.

Booked Chere Khan in for her spaying on the 20th so hopefully she will start to calm down as she is a bit of a nightmare and she keeps attacking Cal who is favouring his poorly leg and trying to rest.

Will keep you posted here on future developments.

      k-l
