I have some forget me not plants that I am trying to split when is the best time to plant them and when do they flower
Nathan, all you need to do is wait until the plants have died and dried. Then crumble them over the soil where you want them to grow and scuff over the soil. tThe seeds will scatter and they will soon germinate and be in flower next year. I do it that way myself.
Hi NAthan, As the very knowledgeable, and a year older Pal says, they are very easy, and have probably already self seeded in some places, but I just wanted to add, I do admire someone who likes them that much to want to propagate them. Some people (and you know who you are), class them as weeds. But they are delightful.
They are wonderful re-seeders, just let them do their job and don't mulch in their general area, look for babies in the spring.
Hi Nathan........... If you have large plants already, just split them now into the damp soil and they will thrive in sun or shade and you will have them forever.
