I knew that Hawthorn leaves are edible (and allegedly good for your cardiovascular system), but I've just found an article listing lots of other stuff that is edible that I didn't know about, including beech leaves.

So, question is, how much of these leaves is safe to eat?

I know for example that certain common culinary herbs become toxic if we graze too much on them (parsley will overload us with iron, rosemary will over stimulate the ticker for example).

I was just thinking because although its slightly the wrong time of year now, I was thinking what main meals could be made with stuff that is abundant, free, and usually overlooked.
