A snippet from Sebastian Vettel (in car) to his pit team.

Vettel: "There is something loose between my legs, apart from the obvious, something flapping around. It's around my feet, I'd be proud if it was what you think it is but it's not..."

    Engineer: "[laughs] ok copy."

Vettel has been developing a humour over the past two years. Quite like the bloke now, he has matured :blue thumb:

It's funny you should say that Harry, Mr S said exactly the same thing. :) I think you're right, that maturity has relaxed him to a certain extent and he's not taking it all quite so seriously.

I know someone who worked with him at Red Bull. He said that he is a genuine person who got dragged down by the all consuming pressure of F1. Apparently the talk of him hitching a caravan up and going on caravan holidays were true.
He also said that he has lost a bit of something since becoming a father. Maybe he has just realised what really matters.

Being German many people automatically think he has no sense of humour along with the rest of his fellow countrymen/women. I wonder why they are stuck with this label? I've not found that myself.

I can believe that. It's a high pressure sport.

That happens so often with a lot of top notch sportsmen/women. I've noticed it particularly with tennis players.

Any German looks like a comic genius when compared to Kimi Raikonen...:giggle:

Could be why Vettel has not done so well this season , towing a caravan must be a disadvantage on the F1 circuits :snorky:

In my travels I've found it to be fairly accurate but there are many exceptions. Henning When, the German comedian, is a superb example of a fantastic sense of humour. :blue thumb:

Quite some years ago, when on holiday, we stayed in a very nice hotel in a small village in Majorca. The hotel had almost 100% British holiday makers whilst the only other hotel in the village had mainly German holiday makers. Our hotel was owned by a very nice German man and the other hotel was owned by Richard Branson! :heehee:

We got friendly with the only two German couples in our hotel and I asked them why they weren't staying in the other hotel. They both had the same answer that they enjoy a good sense of humour, particularly British, and that they rarely get it from other Germans, especially when a hotel is full of Germans! :heehee: They had a brilliant sense of humour.

Oh my, that is the second time this week that I've found out that I'm not the only one who loves his humour :dbgrtmb:
I've also met many Germans with a terrific sense of humour. In the early nineties I was in a backpackers hostel in Te Anua (New Zealand) and we were watching the German episode of Fawlty Towers. It turned out that it had never been aired in Germany and a bunch of Germans were loving it. All except one who stood up, proclaimed "I do not zink dat dis ist funny" and stomped out :lolpt: Almost as funny as the program.
I also used to have a friend from Dusseldorf and she had the most mischievous sense of humour. She passed away at a cruely young age and our large p##s-ups that occured three or four times a year lost a bit of that something special that they always had.

I was reading the next seasons race highlights programme will be screened on Channel 4 and will only be a 15 minute show with a 7 minute ad break in it.
