Just wondering if anyone could tell me what could possibly be leaving droppings in my garden. We live down a quiet lane and recently have found some black dropping about the size of a small little finger. There were three lots the other day. Just wondered if it could be a fox. Any other suggestions will be great, now going to trawl the web to see if i can find a page describing droppings.

Just found a website all about garden animal poo and looks like it is possibly hedgehog poo. Wouldnt have thought it would have been that big though, in relation to the size. Also had our first bird killed in the garden yesterday, all that was left were the feathers and a bit of intestine and apparently thats common of fox kill.

I would agree this is most likely hedgehog droppings. I found the same kind of thing once - and a local wildlife group identified the picture. I too thought it was a fox - incorrectly.

About two inches long, black and tapering at one end .
