The person that discovers this will be a very rich man/woman indeed! Descent fencing and obstructions are start, not leaving tasty treats for the birds that might also appeal to F&Cs. 12 bore is your best bet though. :D

I have nearly finished my new semp bed, the local cats think I have built a giant litter tray for them.

Not funny about the Jack Russell Terrier...
My darling cat Diego got slaughtered by a bunch of free running dogs in the scrapyard behind our garden this afternoon. I am still trying to get to grips with the loss. So are our other cats - three pining cats is more than I can bear in my own grief!

 I don't suppose the people in the scrap yard are the sort who would be very sorry about it either...!!!

Wishaw.I am sorry to hear of the loss of your cat Diego this afternoon and in such horrific circumstances

As a cat person myself,I can understand how you must be feeling at this moment.

    Words don't seem enough.

People who don't like cats must have been mice in a previous life

Oh Wishaw, I am so very sory to hear about the tragic event leading to the loss of Diego.
There is nothing any of us can say to help you...but there is truth in the saying "time is a great healer" I am a cat person, and wanted to say my thoughts are with you at this sad time.

I add my condolences. That's a truly horrid thing to have happen, let alone watch it. I've had one or two friends experience the same thing.

    Terrible experience!

I am planning to go to work this morning but I do not know if I can handle it yet. The house feels so wrong! YEsterday evening I thought I had conquered it, watching the footie and talking to my husband, but when I woke up this morning it hit home hard that he was not there anymore.
He always slept next to me, curled into my side.
He always sat next to me watching the telly.
Whenever I was in the kitchen he would sit by the door demanding to be let out.
When I was in the garden with the cats he was always the one to come by and watch what I was doing every 5 minutes and get his cuddle - the other cats just did their own thing out there.

Some condolence is, he died doing what he loved best, and that is running around outside and exploring. But the thought that he should have another 20 years of doing so - it is just 2 weeks before his 3rd birthday!!!!
We had him and his brother Galileo since they were 6 weeks old, offspring of a stray cat. We vowed never to seperate them. Now Gali is looking very very lost indeed!

Diego hated the vet with all his might, ever since he got microchipped. And now his little broken body is lying at the vet's, waiting to be picked up for cremation. We will get his ashes back in a nice little casket. I could not bear burying him in the garden and leaving him behind when we move. And with the house now feeling so wrong, I don't think we will stay here for long...

Thanks for all your condolences - it helps a little to write it off my chest!

Hi Wishaw.Hope all goes well at work today.
People don't seem to realise just how much pain the death of a much loved member of the family can cause. When you are at work today, your thoughts will just be of the death of the little one, but as time goes by, things will get a lot easier.

Our two cats are like yours, offspring of a stray cat, and will be 3 on August 8th, so ours like yours were kittens probably at roughly the same time albeit yours are a few weeks older.

When our 21 1/2 cat died we said no more, but now we have got these 2, Poppy and Willow,we can honestly say we wouldn't be without them.

I think we will have to do the same when ours eventually go, so that we can take them with us,though the way it is going they will outlive us.

Take Care.My thoughts are with you.

wishaw, just to be clear.im truly sorry about Diego.i sggested a Jack Russell to its me because of problems with cats roaming in his garden.as a rule cats and dogs dont get on, its as old as time and Jack Russells are renowned for yapping.i would never condone cruelty of any kind, to man or beast.i know your loss is great and i dont think its funny that your cat was attacked and killed.
