foxgloves and hollyhocks

    on the packets of my foxglove and hollyhocks it says take them from 5 inch pots and plant out for flowering next year but can i not grow them on in the greenhouse and plant them out in spring help

    Where foxgloves are concerned you are better off planting them now - or certainly before October - they don't like root disturbance in my experience.

    I would not want to keep either in the greenhouse over winter, they are better planted out in the autumn.

    Your very welcome - but keep them watered til they get established. August can be just a tad dry [​IMG]
