I just wondered if anyone had any tips for growing these beauties :) I'm wanting to grow two or three varieties, including the big 9ft giants.

I can cover most requirements in terms of shelter/sun, but my soil is very soft and quite sandy. Will that be a problem?

I think soft and sandy is useful as they require really good drainage so a good start already , you only shallow plant them and a covering of gravel on the top is useful , I have grown before but they dont like my soil it stays too wet over the winter , they take a year or two to settle and flower just so you know in advance , the tubers ? if that's correct look like huge spiders

Try the bulb specialist for good quality plants , its worth the xtra so get good stock to start with

Brilliant :) Parts of my garden get quite boggy in winter but not the spot where these will be going, it drains well there. It's just where the dogs have trashed the lawn that suffers. *sigh*

        Thank you :)
