Free phone calls anyone ???

    via your computer using skype ;)


    its a great program to use, and saves you money [​IMG]

    no need to phone another member or family/friend, if you havn't got skype then you really dont know what your missing out on.

    give it a try and download it free from Skype

    you will need......

    Internet connection
    mic
    or headset with mic


    Click on 'download the latest version'

    I'm now getting really exasperated. I have a Mac computer running OS 9 , and skype only caters for OS X. I heard about skype on the Gadget Show, and thought it a great idea....not if I have to get a new computer first though!

    If you download the program, you can talk to anyone else through your pc that also has a pc and internet connection.

    The cost is free from computer to computer, if you wanted to call someones mobile phone in another country, it will cost you approx 1.2 pence a minute.

    You cannot Yahoo, MSN or AOL's AIM ..... This is much more advanced.

    It i worth investing say �£10 on a headset with mic to use.

    I have had Skype for 2 days now, and I will be putting it on relatives pc's when I visit them.

    Nathan - I saw a bit about this on a TV programme recently - isn't this for use with Broadband - not dial up. As I recall Skype calls are free to other skype users whereever they are in the world, and are cheap to use for non skype users.

    The programme I saw was using a handset - but you say it works with a Mike?

    yes either Mic and speakerss on your PC, or buy a headset with mic. (what I have).

    Calls are crystal clear.

    You don't need broadband either, just an internet connection.

    Download it, it's free to download and set up and see how you go.

    I can see this is going to become the way of things in the future.

    That sounds interesting. I'll have to look into it!
    At present I am using Telediscounts to ring my friend in Spain. We chat for at least an hour each week and in November it cost me about �£2.80 for the whole month.

    As long as the person has a PC ... It Costs Nothing ;) . If they don't, you can purchase credit to phone people on their landline/mobile, at a cost of 1p a minute (roughly) .
