Growing Height: Massing Freesias grow 20 to 25cm, Giant Freesia grow 30 to 60cm, Double freesia grow 30 to 40cm. Protecting Freesia as they grow will encourage taller stems.
Planting Depth: Plant Freesias pointy end up at a depth of 5cm.
Plant Spacing: Space bulbs 5 to 7cm apart.

So the gurus say 2 - 3" deep Kaz . I plant my container bulbs in circles starting at the largest diameter and then moving in starting the next circle half way between the pitching of the first , so they are not in a line . Hope that's clear:scratch:

Haven't grown them since I were a lad .. but I put about 5 in a 5" square pot (corners and one in the middle) from memory. 2" or 3" apart, as HarryS says, sounds about right.
