Hope i have spelt that right!!
I bought one in the reduced section of a garden centre ( couldnt resist it!) and it is about 5 ft of stalk with a few leaves on the end. Its quite old stock i think.
What would you do? I am wondering if i should cut it back and wait and see what happens this year.....

Freemontodendrons are what are known as wall shrubs, and do tend to be spindly. What I would do is nip the growing point out, just to try and make it thicken up. If you have sensitive skin be careful, because the young bark is a skin and eye irritant.

Long lanky plant with really nice flowers is my experience, grows like the clappers.
And as David says, be careful of the brown dust that comes off the twigs, its are like itching powder.
