That's a sad looking rose Loli! Could it be the problem that Chimneyrosegarden has had recently? Woo diagnosed it as proliferation.

Hi Loli with spoilt buds there are two kinds as a rule, the one spoilt in wet weather, the other in dry,or as I say either balled or withered,it is not always easy to explain but my remedy is simple ,cut off the top of the shoot down to an apparently sound eye and let it try again.
The petals have stuck together usually through being to wet, sometimes by the sticky secretions of greenfly,.I sometimes ease the petals downwards with my finger and thumb,I think as you have said that it is to shaded and isn't drying out,it needs sun and some wind where the evaporation would make quite a difference ;)

Your lovely rose will be just fine my friend:)

Thank you Woo:dbgrtmb:....now you mention it there's a good chance it could have a lot to do with the greenflys....there are alot about in my garden this year plus the sap that has been dripping from a large Sycamore isn't helping either....i'm off to do a bit of snipping;)many thanks:thumbsup:
