After several days of sub zero temperatures I found I could not easily open the garage door.
Seems I have some frost heave that has lifted the drive blocks quite a bit and stopping the door opening as it should.
I really hope it goes back to normal as it warms up or I have a big problem.

Nightmare. A plate whacker might sort it out if it doesn't settle itself.

Finding a few cracks from the weight of the snow on the building. Going to add some steel strapping before next winter.

Hopefully it will go back down when the frost goes Robert. If the whacker doesn't compact them all back down, it's only the first couple of rows next to the garage that would need taking up and re-laying to allow the door to open by the looks of it.

 We have experienced frost heave to, only where the tarmac meets the concrete of our entrance......
Too dark to photograph now but will in the morning.. Never had this before & the concrete & tarmac are pretty old now though & the council in it's infinite wisdom altered the drainage in our lane to soak aways year before last....... !!!!
I have no problem with them, but it seems to take days to soak away now...!!!!

We had a minus 15c last january, no problems. Don't know what the hell it dropped to a few nights back but I went down the caravan a bit pissed up & very soon made my way back to the house & crashed on the sofa.

Got home to find incoming water frozen solid & pipe burst, despite the insulation. Had to empty the whole wood shed to get at the burst. Got water back on now but need to re make the joint in the morning as the pipe was at an awkward angle & there b a slight drip.
