I can't believe it. I'm still waiting for summer to arrive! Suppose it's time to start the big autumn projects, then.

    Climate change is horrid.

When are your usual 'first frost' dates?

In a bad year we can get frost early to mid October and a good year early to mid November. Very occasionally not until December.

Summer was quite reasonable here but we seem to have our own micro-climate here in Shineyland :thumb:

We had some lovely weather here in Boghopper land earlier in the summer. August was a damp squib but September has, in the main, been a good month. As my old geography teacher used to say,"Climate is what you expect, weather is what you get"!

Anyway, we're lucky to live in a temperate part of the world, AND lucky to be here anyway. So enjoy the weather, whatever it is!

Well it's bright and sunny, already warming up and it's only 8.30am, so as usual, I'm off to play golf!

Bright and sunny here too Doghouse. I'm off to strim, chainsaw and do whatever else need attending to in a big garden I look after. Quite a contrast to last night as I was giving a talk to a society about "Behind the Scenes at Chelsea"!

This has been a great summer - warm, then hot and dry in May, June and July. Rain in August, but still warm and it helped water things. Well it was where I live.

Nip in the air in the mornings - it's mid September though so I doubt it's climate change.

Seriously cold on the golf course this morning and not much improvement through the day. However found some really good wild mushrooms when walking the dog so all is not bad.
Off on a weeks holiday in the sun next week so the garden will have to go to seed...........

It's been a beautiful summer here. Warm and sunny since May with hardly any rain.
We could have our first frosts anytime from September onwards - but I find if we can get beyond September without frost it might be January before we get one, but the plants still give in for want of daylight in November.

Here in North Staffs the good weather broke down in mid July but it did me a big favour because it gave me the chance to reseed all four lawns and they've come on a treat.
I don't think there will be a frost to do any damage here but I've covered up young and tender stuff......just in case.
