Nip in the air this evening, but its still well above freezing point. Might have to switch the heating on before long, but I'll wait and see. More fine weather forecast later this week.

We have one forecast for tonight! I don't think it will be much as although the sky is clear it is still quite warm tonight. My Busy lizzies are still out....

Just been out, the stars are out and the temperature is falling fast. Forecast is 2c here, and I reckon it will be that. Tender plants were put under glass this afternoon.

We didn't get it, thank goodness! Now I can complete my mad dash around the customers today, and get the last of the grass cut! Then it can freeze as much as it likes......

I do miss the frost and snow - particularly for sparkling photos. Chilly here, but bright and sunny still. Grass still growing which means more mowing :( . I never lift dahlias, but just wait till the leaves are blackened and then cut down and cover with straw and mossy debris from hanging baskets. Some have been in the ground or 10 years or more. I don't cut anything back til March and only overwinter fuchsias in the greenhouse. Everything else stays out.

Chilly morn here but bright and fresh [IMG]

All my tender fuschias in the greenhouse last week - dont want to risk loosing them!

I dont cut anything back either - love to see the frost on the plants and hear the birds twittering still in the shrubs and bushes on a cold and frosty morning [IMG]

We had our agm and an overwintering talk at our fuchsia club last night.

A new fuchsia speaker and his thoughts are to take all fuchsias into greenhouse polytunnel or wherewver you store them and drench them with jeyes fluid and put pot in a poly bag and tie to keep compost moist so they do not dry out.

Feb -march start your cycle again with tlc and should soon see signs of new growth.

But have to admit a month ago my fuchsias came indoors as they were startign to shed their leaves ,they got a tidy up and now indoors and now a lot of new growth they think it is now Spring again.

    Shall keep them growing.

He said that was ok since they are now at this stage as can get early cuttings on the go.

but if you are to bury or take an dkeep in cold or frost free greenhouse he said the same thing.

Take out of pot and spray compost with again jeyes fluid which I have nevr done .

And he wins all prizes when showing his fuchsias at the shows.

Marge its a chilly morning here too but a beautiful blue sky an dnot a bit of wind so still.

Yesterday was a very blustery day all day and so cold.
