Widespread frost by the end of the week! Just watched Countryfile. I havn't seen one single day or night of frost where I live for a whole year, even over winter.

I havn't taken anything out of the GH yet. I am waiting to get into May before I do. Not a drop of rain today, just breezy and sunny.

I very nearly took out the bubblewrap insulation from the greenhouse this weekend, glad I didn't.

last thing we need now is a hard frost, apples are in blossom at the moment and cherries pears are finished, not sure what effect it might have on the commercial crops.

Most of my stuff is still mobile, so although a pain, I can get round it.

Bit worried about how I protect the echium now though, its about 8ft with a very soft tip, flolwers just starting.

Could you slip a bin bag over the top Pete? being 8ft it won't be easy though...

Bit worried about either breaking or seriously bending the growing point, I did use a fleece bag once or twice during the winter, but it was a lot shorter then and I could put a stick up the side to support the bag.

Pete you could cut the sealed end off a fleece bag and then join two together to give you the extra length. :)

Good idea Sheal but not really the problem.
Its the growing tip that is tender, the lower parts could probably take a couple of degrees of frost.
