Hi all, im not common around this forum but have been spotted on quite a few others over the years so i hope you wont mind my first thread here being a direct request for a help

Im wondering if any kind soul can assist with the Id of a tree growing at the bottom of my garden. I was led to believe its some kind of pear tree, but the fruit is a lot smaller, harder and more bitter than anything ive ever eaten, almost like an olive (i only took a small nibble !)

Ive included a few photos of the leaf, fruit and tree hopefully clear enough to help and some one has since suggested its from the plum family possibly The Greengage (Prunus domestica italica or the Reine Claude)

ps any clue whats wrong with some of the leaves / fruit and can I spray it with anything to help
    many thanks in advance

(pps ill try and get some more photos up of other growing stuff from the garden if youd like:- pots, leeks, strawberries, apple trees, raspberries, cabbages and gooseberries )

thanks for the responses so far... some one has pointed me in the direction of
The Greengage (Prunus domestica italica or the Reine Claude)

any thoughts... fruit seems similar but leaves seem a bit differnent in that mine arent smooth

Doesn't look like olive to me The leaves look familiar, but can't think why.

        Welcome all the same :)
