hello to the local fruit farmers....
Can I have please some advice on which are the fruit trees that most suit the south east of England and what is the best time to buy the fruit tree (maybe a small variety?) and plant it?
Finally, a reliable place in Essex to find a proper one (say, not that it is supposed to produce nectarines but it is in fact a cherry tree...). thanks a lot !

For best value for money I recommend Lidl if you have a shop near you. I have bought several bare-rooted fruit trees from them over the years and never had a failure. Also, at their prices if you don't like the variety you have selected you can afford to replace it with another without breaking the bank!
Buy them in Feb/March while they are dormant. If you want an apple you can't beat a Cox. Buy a dwarf rootstock and stick it in a pot for a year or two while it decides if it likes your garden!
