    Hello,

I planted a number of containers with bulbs last Autumn and was wodering if there were any fruit bushes that I could plant along with them to maximise the productivity and interest of the container. I gues something hardy and able to survive in a nutrient poor environment may be best?

    Any advice gratefully received!

    Thanks,

    Tim

Hi Tim, how about strawberries? If the compost is poor, just give them some liquid feed during the summer, or top dress with new compost and add some fertiliser granules into it.

You could always go for herbs, like rosemary, sage thyme etc. Being mediterranian plants they will put up with poor soil and neglect more than fruit bushes, which need more TLC, especially regular watering.
