Good thread Armandii - as I have a question !
What is the "best trailing fuschia ". Now I know best can cover a multitude of sins. I want a hanging basket trailing fuschia , which is very floriferous in semi shade . The ones I have tried over the past couple of years have been OK , but have never wowed me . Unlike the bush ones I tried last year which were fantastic.
      The trailers I have tried...........
      Pink galore
      Auntie Jinks
Sir Matt Busby ( best trailer last year )
      La Campanella
      Harry Gray
Now as there seems to be a never ending list of Fuschias it may take me a decade to find the one ! Any suggestions GCers ?

      TIA

Its a few years since I was really into Fuchsias, but the one which was considered to be one of the best for baskets was "Marinka". I am pretty sure its still around, as are some of its offspring like, "Golden Marinka".

        Yes, it is :blue thumb:
Anyway, I'm on the lookout for a supplier of good, strong and healthy plants. Too often I've seen plants that just look like they're 'ticking over'. Any suggestions folks?

This year I'll be trialling (and trailing hopefully)

These are for my window boxes and I've ordered them from www.bakker.fr which is the French site for Spalding.

I'm also growing Delta's Sarah which I got as a cutting from @Jenny namaste . It's flourishing and will go in a large pot on the decking

I bought quite a few last year, but the best performers (and most beautiful) were:

            Purple Rain (my favourite)

            Tuonela
            [IMG]

            Cecile
            [IMG]
They are giants, so the flowers are real show stoppers :wub2:

            The others I bought were:

            Flying Scotsman
            Southern Belle Blue
            Sarah Eliza
            Orange King
            Peachy.

I bought mine from babyplants.co.uk. £1.25 for a jumbo plug or £5.99 for six.

Tuonela and Cecile were very similar but there were slight differences in colour. I'll be buying Tuonela, Purple Rain and Orange King (because it was such a lovely colour) again this year.

                  Eee up :blue thumb:
I've grown some of the larger examples in the past, but found that they didn't flower for long, hence my question. Mind you, it could well be I did something wrong

I've deltas sarah, snow cap and dollar princess. All planted quite small last year and did ok. Hoping for more blooms this year if I'm honest, maybe I didn't feed them enough.
Tempted by 'blacky' this year but don't want to lose them in the winter (like my pelargoniums- devastated)...are they hardy to -1 or -2? My greenhouse is bubble wrapped but not heated.

I'm not sure about the short flowering period, Freddy:dunno: Knowing you you would not have failed to feed them with a Potash rich fertiliser just before and during flowering. Could it have been down to the conditions of those particular Seasons.:dunno::coffee:
