Strange, Gogs as I would have thought the cool wetish summer would have favoured fuchsias.
They tend to get red spider most years down here and stop flowering in mid summer.

    Hi Gogs,

Have got three climbing Fuchsia's new in this year. They are quite robust looking and healthy but slow to grow. My first experience with Fuchsia's of any type.

    Pete,

I have some Provado bug spray, if red spider attacks mine will it be ok to use on them? I have only been using it on the Roses so far.

What a strange Summer. My Fushias have been the best ever. Both those in pots and the ones in the ground. ag. you're O.K. to use Provado (ultimate bug-killer) on the Fuschias. That's what I use and it hasn't hurt them yet ;)

mine have been wonderful, grown about 3 different types. I've even managed to take 6 cuttings from my dads fuscia bush (a hardy one) and they are currently budding, looking very happy after initially looking very sad!

The last plant my Dad put in my garden was a fuchsia. Not very big, not very exciting, but it was nearly 30 years ago. Earlier this year, I dug it up by accident. Very sad. Thanks for this thread. It made me go and have a look at where it was. AND.....

Sorry about the grass, no reason to weed until the cerinthe died down. (The other plant is a cerinthe).

I have had a good display of Fuchsias this summer even the variegated trichophylla 'Fire Cracker' has excelled even in full sun. [IMG]

    Sarraceniac, yours looks like 'Genie'.

Thanks Strongylodon. As I said it isn't a very exciting plant, but it is nostalgic, really glad it came back.

Gogs, that Kath Van Hagen is beautiful.
