In containers I would use a peat based compost with added JI No3. That`s a good mix for any potted shrubs.

For my Fuchsias I use 10 parts univeral potting compost 1 part Vermiculite and 1 part sharp sand (or silica sand).

I use multi purpose and vermiculite and has worked well for me.

And our local fuchsia society msot all swear by BQ compost and at the shows their fuchsia sare first class specimens but they may have a secret they are not sharing.

No secrets I belong to a Fuchsia Society and all the experts are only too pleased to give their growing ways to anyone that asks.

We have beginners evenings 4 times a year and the experts are there giving their ways of growing Fuchsias, also rooted cuttings to anyone that wants one.

Hi Cymro why not line your greenhouse with bubble wrap buy an electric frost guard heater set the heater to just above freezing then you have no worries.

Hi cymro. The best Fuchsias I EVER had were ones grown in a mixture of JI no3, Levingtons potting and VERY well rotted manure. I`d grown Fuchsias for some years before this and results were always pretty good, but none compared with those using that mixture. I`d be interested to hear what other folks think. Cheers...freddy.

Hi Cymro, just google bubblewrap on e-bay lots of it on there, you need a qualified electrician to get the power to your g/house latest safety legislation dictates this extension leads not deemed safe.
