Fuchsias

    I have recieves 5 varieties of fuchsias from gardening direct 2of each so 10 plants.
    No instructions with them.
    They are fairly small plants i have potted them on in the greenhouse.I have not grown them before.
    Do I pinch out anything on them.or just let them grow tis year.
    The varieties are
    WINSTON CHURCHILL
    DOLLAR PRINCESS
    EVE BOERY
    LA CAMPANELLA
    SPIAN KOP.
    Any advice would be grateful.I need to go and stain my fence so havn't the time to research. :rolleyes: Jacqui

    Lovely plants and the first three are hardy, the last two less so.

    Pinch them out to promote bushy growth,
    Keep them a little on the dry side
    Feed once a month til they are established.
    Remove the flower buds until about July, to ensure they bulk out.
    When the frosts cut them back leave the sticks on to protect the crown, and only remove about the beginning of May - cutting them back to ground level.

    Thanks for that Fran,
    I was hoping to put some in a hanging basket are these best put in the ground or in a large pot on the patio.Can i transfer then to the ground in October? Sorry to ask too many questions I do have a book which I have started to read but I can't take it all in that quick.
