    Hello all

New to the boards and would just like a bit of advice.

2 weeks ago, i laid turves on my garden and, as per instructions i've read in many a book, i kept it fully watered, morning and night. over this weekend i've noticed that there are a few toadstools growing here and there.

Firstly, would this be down to me over-watering perhaps or would they have come in the turves? if so, can i ring up my turf supplier and complain?

Secondly, how do i get rid of them without harming my new lawn?

any help or advice would be massively appreciated

    Many Thanks

    Shaun

    Hi and welcome.

The fungi was probably already there in the turf. I don't know if you can complain though. Out of interest, what do these toadstools look like? Can you post a pic?

The fungi are only temporary, I wouldn't worry too much about them but they are showing that you are probably overwatering. I'd lay off watering so much - it doesn't need doing morning and night, particulary in this cold damp weather we are having.

I laid new turf last Spring and got small fungi appearing soon after. They only appear at the edges, in the damp area of the garden and don't get big. I just brush them over with a brush to destroy the heads. They don't really seem that bad.
