I HAVE 6 DIFFEENT VARIETIES OF FUSCHIA IN A FLOWER BED WHICH GETS LIGHT IN THE MORNING BUT MAINLY DAPPLED SHADE. THEY HAVE BEEN THERE FOR 6 YEARS AND HAVE THRIVED, BUT THIS YEAR THE LEAVES ARE TURNING YELLOW AND FALLING OFF!! THE FLOWERS REMAIN AND IN FACT ARE GROWING BETTER THAN EVER BUT THE BUSH LOOKS WEIRD WITH NO LEAVES. THERE SEEMS TO BE A LIGHT COPPER COLOURED DUST ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE LEAF. HELP!!

Yellowing and dropping leaves in fuchsias can be due to a number of causes. Whilst it could be rust, it doesn't sound like that to me that usually shows on the green leaf before it turns yellow and falls. If you got it on the green leaf - then yes, and spraying with a fungicide should work, though whether it may be a bit late mmmmmmm.

However if the leaves yellowed over a short period and dropped, sounds like more a problem at the roots. Two of the commonest causes I know are water logging and vine weevil who love fuchsias - can you give a little more detail on the type of soil, container or border.

Me I would lift one and see what the soil and root was like. Hope that helps a little
