I picked up four little fuschia plug plants at the weekend - they are upright fuschias.

I potted them up today, and have put them on the kitchen windowsill, but should I pinch the tops out? It doesn't say so on the packaging, but I am sure I pinched out my fuschia plugs last year.

Is it necessary? Also, should I pot them together eventually, to make a nice bushy plant, or will they be ok grown on alone?

There are loads of different types of Fuchsias, Victoria. Generally they will grow into reasonable sized bushes on their own - so I wouldn't put more than one in a pot.

They will grow happily on their own, but like many plants its a good idea to pinch them out to make them more bushy.

Pinch 2 out and leave the others - all bases covered lol

I just leave mine outside all year and they seem to survive OK

My hardy Fuschias,Garden News ,Genii etc Have survived all the frost but I would not put out any new ones until it's a bit warmer.

I`ve potted on thousands of fuchsia plugs over the years and have never pinched any out to improve bushing. They will be fine left to their own devices.:gnthb:

Thank you everyone. I will pinch out two and leave two, and try a little experiment. There seem to be good arguments for both!
