Two questions which I would like some advice upon, please.
    1.
Most of the daffs in the garden have now finished ~ the heads look very, very dead.
At what point do I remove the heads ?
Do I leave the stems, as well as the leaves?
    2.
I have two small fuscia plants. Both are very woody and give every appearance of being dead.
But I noticed, this morning, that there appears to be new life beginning at the base of the plants. Very small leaves. I don't know at the moment whether they are part of the plant or weeds. I wouldn't recognise fuscia leaves, if they were pointed out to me. I recognise the flower, but .....
Would I best leave these alone to see what transpires?
Or cut back a lot of the woody material?

    Thanks

    Hello Jfo
Its best to remove the Daffs flower heads as soon as they go . This stop them forming seed , so all the energy returns to the bulb . I leave the stems and leaves and let them die back until I need to remove them for new planting - last half of May . You will see some people remove the flower heads , double and tie the stems and leaves . This looks neater but has no advantage , I have read.
As for the Fuschias , I know next to nothing on this lovely family of plants !

Agree with Harry regarding the daffs, with the fuchsia they are probably new shoots, some fuchsia shoot from the base, the leaves have a reddish look to them when new.

Thank you, both. I'll do the daffs tomorrow and await developments on the fuscias.
