Is there ANY sign of budding on the stems? I'm no 'spurt on them but my fuscias took a good pounding over the last couple of winters but they're coming back very slowly.

    Hi David

These are well established plants about 1/2 to 1 mtr high sorry I should have pointed that out in the last post

I was hoping to cut them back quite hard??

    Thanks

    Dave

You can cut your fuchsias back to whatever height you want them now, DavidG.
Watch them and see if they break up the stems, sometimes they do.
If not then they will probably come from below ground and you can cut the old stems right back to ground level.

Cut them back hard, give them a shrub feed and then mulch
