Does anyone know for sure if you need permission from your local council these days to hold a garage sale on your own property. I know years ago lots of people had them and you saw them advertised in the local papers. A friend of ours has alot of large items she needs to get rid of and so rather then drag them to a car boot sale they wanted to have a garage sale. Any info would be a great help.Thankyou

I would not think there would be any problem, as you are only clearing out your old stuff, and as long as you are not doing it in a commercial way.

If in any douby, contact your local authority, but I would save my time calling them and just do it ;)
