Tanilized wood is ok, the worse to use is wood that has been creasoted as this can leach out of the wood and also sleepers that have been soaked in the oil.
If you use sleepers, it's best to use new ones. I've used tanilized wood in the past with no problem. Merry Christmas

Hiya Miajoe welcome to our friendly forum.

I see you're from Mansfield Bob (my hubbie) is from Sutton-in-Ashfield which is just up the road from you...I think!

You can basically use most kinds of wood in the garden it all depends on how it is treated and of course you have to remember that sooner or later it will need replacing.

We have used quite a lot of wood on our side garden for slightly raised beds and I have to admit I really chuffed with the outcome.

Dee's garden as you can see shows what can be achieved by using wood as borders in the garden, her garden is really smashing isn't it?
