Hurran`s garden centres in the South West and Wales, have gone into administration. 3 of their centres closed yesterday, including the one in Newport. They may have buyers for the rest of the group, though.

Our local Bents is struggling-it`s normally packed to the rafters-the restauraunt is usually brimming, went in the other day and it was dead.

Bad news for everyone. I was hoping to get a job this summer at one of the local nurseries or garden centres :(

Seems to be bad news like this every week now.

It must be getting bad around the country because what used to be our local Wyvale Garden Centre has now become Country Gardens a name I have never heard before.Wyvale had only taken over this particular garden centre about three years or so back and it must have been struggling for them to sell it on because Wyvale in the past have been buying up a lot of the local Frost's garden centres.

We went to this particular one last Sunday afternoon and there was hardly anyone in there.Even the Aquatic shop was empty whereas on a Sunday afternoon is normally heaving.

This garden centre was even trying to seel off it's Orchids at two for a tenner...

Having said that when we drove out the local eatery pub car park was chokka with cars and they were parked both sides of the road all the way up this road which only serves the pub or tha garden centre.

When we have visited some of the larger Wyvale garden centres around lunch time there is always a long queue of pensioners waiting to get their Sunday Lunch:D

SG,I got an application form before Christmas for a job at Woolies, thank goodness I never filled it in...
