    Hi All,

Up until this year I always got all my gardening supplies from a local family run garden centre. The prices were really reasonable, plants were healthy and the staff really knowledgable. Unfortunately the man who owned it wanted to retire, but my understanding is that he could not find a buyer, so he closed it down. Today I went to get some foxglove and wallflower seeds and compost to sow for next year from gc about 10 minutes from house. I could not believe the difference in price of plants and compost. I asked for some advice reference supporting the cucumbers I bought to be told "I think a stick thing from over there is what you need". Are all commercial gc's like this? I will definitely have to research and find somewhere else that is more on a par of the one I used to use.

    Regards
    Rusty

Hi Rustyroots, Try Wilko if you have one near you for seeds etc. my local Wyevale GC are very expensive, the restaurant is good though.

Even worse than being expensive is that some things that I have bought from Wyevale have died on me and don't actually seem very well cared for.

I am lucky enough to have an excellent family run nursery only a mile away. They buy in most things but they look after the plants very well while in their control.
