I am hoping to get my yard sorted out next year, ( [IMG] savings allowing) as at the moment over 2/3 of my 'garden' is taken up with an ugly old carport that is no longer needed (and also blocks a lot of sun!)

There will be a lot of work needed.
Whats the best way to find a reputable Garden Designer?
Is there a best time of year to have the work done?
How much notice would I have to give them?
    Any advice gratefully recieved. [IMG]

Hi Berry, take a look at Yellow Pages, or seek local recommendation. I would look to see that the designer is horticulturally qualified - preferrable the RHC certificate or diploma.

Now is a good time - gives you the autumn to get going and prepare for next year.

[IMG] Check out the tree surgeon section in the yellow pages too, only make sure they are qualified plantsmen. It is suprising how many are, & do garden designing as well. You could also go on line & check local directory there too, can be different to yellow pages. This really is the time to start thinking about it, good luck. :D
