Garden for people who are blind

I am creating a walkway with plants either side. I saw in Tatton Park a few years ago a garden for the senses which had plants with texture and fragrance for people with blindness. Does anyone know who created the garden or can you advise me on what plants you would put by the side of a meandering path.

Lots of people have used plants such as thyme and camomile as the "grass" for lawns so every step would produce a scent - it's a great idea.
