I thought I'd share a few photo's with everyone I took over the weekend. I purchased a digital slr, and it's pretty good with the macro too. Admittedly at the moment I'm not too clued up with it's functions, but hopefully I'll learn. I used to do a lot of photography through college then part of my degree eventually. However I've never really dabbled in taking shots of flowers etc....so it's all new to me. It's a while since I used one so I'm a little rusty. I had always used a standard nikon slr with just a 35mm lense before....I'm trying to move with the times a bit now. Anyway, hope you enjoy.

Unfortunately the day I decided to take the photo's the farmer who owns the fields behind the house decided it was harvest day for the barley :heehee:

Oh well, luckily he did the corner that backs onto our garden first but there was tons of dust kicked up and you can see it on a few of the flowers in the shots, but you still get the jist I hope.:heehee:

Dahlia- No idea of the name but I got it with a mixed bag of purple flowering bulbs from morrisons.

    Ipomoea- from seed

Echinacea Purpea- root cuttings frmo poundland...bargain!!

Some Sweet Peas climbing up the fence weeving in with some Cereopsis Roulette at the back of the border- both from seed.

Rudbeckia- I can't recall the name sorry! Any ideas anyone ?

    Brodiaea Queen Fabiola

    Ergyniam

    Lobellia Queen Victoria

A view from the back looking out to one side of the garden.:loll:

    Cosmos Double Click- from seed

    Cosmos Sweet Sixteen- from seed

Very pleased with these :) Have this patch of about 10 and then two more waves as I staggered the planting of the bulbs.

Helenium Moerheim Beauty- was given as a tiny little plug that sprouted at the side of the pot of the parent plant. The hover flies and bees love them....as you can see! Set up against the gladioli it gives such warmth :)

Cornflower- Polka Dots.....and a stray californian poppy......it shall be prompty removed after flowering so it doesnt seed- I'm not a huge fan :rolleyespink:- both from seed.

Nasturtium Strawberries and Cream- from seed.

I really have enjoying experimenting and expanding with my gardening this year!! It's fun, and it drives me through my life :) There is nothing I have found as rewarding as going out and enjoying your plants knowing youve given them all that helping hand hand!!

Many Thanks Pamsdish. The photo of the dicentra in your profile photo is stunning. Have you seen alba before? The two together look amazing!! One of my old jobs was working at alton towers, we used to take group photo's as part of a service called walkabout photos, and I occasionally worked in a shop called sepia in the park where we took group shots of people in either victorian or 1920's american gangster style. Not really beneficial experience in helping me take photo's of plants though!!

I bet you still take brilliant photos. I think us gardeners have a good eye for that kind of thing.
