can anybody advice me on using weather proof boxes for storing electrical sockets in when in use for pond, lights etc and are they really safe to use in any weather all year around.Have seen one in Focus for £19.99 has anyone seen one cheaper?

I think outdoor electrics need to be safely ensconsed in some sort of protection from the elements, and that includes cables as well as sockets. The weatherproof boxes are a good idea, but I don't know what the prices are like. Best to shop around a bit.

Yes you are right cant be too careful when mixing electrics and water. I have seen some sockets on spikes but I dont think they are meant to be used as pemanent fixture. As you say best to shop around.

You want to look for a box with an IP65 rating to be sure that its safe from anything you expect in the garden
