I have a pair of slip-on welly-type garden shoes (made of rubber) which I bought at Nottcutts yonks ago. These are finally showing signs of being past it and need replacing, but all the rubber slip-on garden shoes I've looked at recently are made of lightweight plastic and not sturdy welly-boot rubber at all. There isn't a Nottcutts anywhere near me and their website doesn't show any garden footwear at all.

I'll do a bit more trawling of the internet, but it occurred to me to wonder what you all wear on your feet for gardening. I'm still wearing my worn-out welly slip-ons for now, they are one of the best things I ever bought for gardening.

I wear steel toe cap boots all week long at work, so for working in the garden it is nice to wear something lighter.

My weapon of choice is Mucker Boots.

Well, I like wearing old trainers when the weather is dry that have got too tatty to wear in public. If it's been wet and I'm working in the borders then it's 30 year old wellies that are still as good as new.

I wear the green welly shoes quiet often in the garden but after a few years usually end up with the heel splitting and they are starting to get a bit expensive to replace so I only use them for the allotment {or an old pair of trainers}but have several pairs of lightweight cloggies that i can just slip on and i like them so much I now use a pair as house slippers,as they are nice and wide for my wide feet {bunion}The only problem I find id that I have to wear socks with them as my feet slip in them barefoot but they do tend to make my feet sweat more:p

Once the tread on the soles of them have started to wear out I usually chuck them away as one time I kept using them and slipped on some mud when the grass was like a bog and went flat on my back:thud: and it started my sciatica off so be warned if any of you wear them as they can be a bit dangerous:p

Thats a good link you ahve put up Marley

Gosh, haven't they got expensive? I'm sure I only paid £5-£6 for mine originally. Thanks for that link, Marley :dbgrtmb:
