Garden surprise discoveries

    Had a nice surprise today,I lost my clematis tangutica over winter, not sure why but not dwelling on it.

    But, I kept finding unknown 'weeds' popping up in clumps. Realised today while pulling some more established ones that they were clematis seed heads. Potted up 12 of the beauties and more to come!

    Never had Clems self seed before but what a nice surprise!

      They do seed all over the place, but be warned they may not be as large flowered if your original was a selected form, like Bill McKenzie for example.
      We have a dwarf one called Radar which is something of a seed weed.
