If one was to visit the following places (see list below)around the second week of june: could you advice me whether it is cheaper to travel by rail or by car (rented) (what about confortable?).
Also, where would be the more convenient location where to sleep to reach all the places and do you know of any b+b that you can recommend?
Are the places very far one from the other?
It is not for me, but apparently a group of Italian garden enthusiasts which want to spend a few days visiting...

    LIST:

    - David Austin Roses at Albrighton, Shropshire (West Midlands)
    - Hidcote, Kiftsgate, Chippen Campden
    Stonehouse Cottage - Gloucestershire
    - Brook Cottage - Dorset
    - Nymans - West Sussex
    - Great Dixter - East Sussex
    - Mottisfont Abbey Garden - Hampshire
    - Sissinghurst - Kent.

Thank you in advance for any advice...

Mira, do you know how many are there in the group (for car travel), have any driven here before, would they mind driving? Some of the gardens are quite a distance from each other and would involve a lot of driving but having had experience of trying to get from one place to another (let alone several) by train in this deregulated world I think driving would be cheaper.

possibly round about ten. Some don't seem to think it is a big deal to drive on the left. I would think when they get to the junctions and roundabout they may change their mind !

That makes it at least two cars or a minibus. I just think the train fares would be horrific and organising those journeys would be a nightmare.
