One of my New Year's resolutions was to start a journal about my backyard garden, this boggy sc-rap (why does the editor think I'm trying to write a dirty word here?) of north-facing land, a mixture of heavy clay and builders' rubbish. That's right, a new development, a desert, except for too many squirrels and cats.

I don't know how I'm going to achieve my vision of almost a cottage garden with a working veg patch, but I'm going to give it my best shot.

Good luck with your garden Sinta, I have heavy clay too and it makes working in it that much harder but I have many shrubs that don't seem to mind it at all. [IMG]

Thanks for the encouragement, strongylodon! I think it's mainly the case of the right plant for the right place.
