Which eight discs would you take with you to your desert island?

(For anyone who doesn't know, for about the last 1,000 years R4 has been running a weekly show in which a celeb is invited to choose eight recordings they'd take to their desert island, should they ever be marooned in solitary confinement. They then have to pick one from the eight which they'd save if all else got washed away.)

It's a game we often play in the ClaraLou household. It's just a bit surprising that we've yet to be invited on to the show. Anyway, I think if I only had one recording to which I could listen I probably chuck it off the cliff after a couple of hours, however much I liked it. But at a push, I'd probably choose this.

David Bowie - The Man Who Sold The World (1970) - YouTube

Yes, should have said - songs, not albums. but hey! Who cares? This is GC Desert Island Discs! Should you get picked, KyleLeonard, you will probably be encouraged to choose a different artist for each of your eight.

today, I had a labourious job of pulling weeds and turning flower beds ...

listed to several 'mellow' tracks, and these were a few my favourites (for the day) .... tommorow it will most prob be a different selection and something more 'upbeat' as I'm mowing lawns for most of the day :

I would definitely have The Kinks and The Stones in my list too. I think I'd go for Lola rather than AA, though. Great lyrics. 'Met her in a bar down in old Soho, where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry cola, C-O-L-A cola ......'
