:sunny: Welcome to the Gardeners Corner Produce Competition 2012.. :yay: A Competition for the BEST LOOKING fruit veg & flowers.. It is up to you how you show them. They can be cleaned & trimmed or just dug, for the voting threads... This is in an effort to make it so it is up to the membership..

This is to be a little more relaxed than the usual veg comps as it is the virtual world.. :D

    1. You must show a photo of your chosen crop entries at least 1 time during the growth period..
    2. You can use whatever seed & feeds you like..
    3. The competition will close September 30th 2012 @ 11.59hrs.
    4. A separate thread to be opened in each class for your final entries that are going to the vote.. :dbgrtmb:

    Classes..
    Brassica Family & Leaf veg
    Legumes.. (Peas & Beans)..
Root Vegetables.. Including Swedes, Turnip etc...
Squash - To include Marrows & Courgettes..
    Salad Crops - Not Tomatoes..
    Sweetcorn..
    Flowers...

:sunny: So nothing more for me to say really except... May the best one win..!!!! :heehee:

    Hi Marley,

Sorry to be thick, but I don't quite understand

What are we competing about? Is it the most varieties, the biggest crop, the biggest individual plant, the quickest growing, do they have to be presented for judging like they do in physical competitions etc?

I`m afraid I agree with Shiney, if you were exhibiting things like carrots or parsnips, even in a village show, you would be expected to offer at least 3 matching.

Does that mean in addition to the (final) entry photo?

Brassica Family. - what about swedes, turnips, etc which are also roots, or just above ground 'leaf' brassicas?

Root Vegetables - will this include leeks & onions?

Can't it just be left to to the GC membership to decide whatever they think is most important in each category when voting (as in photo competitions) thus keeping things open to as many as possible? Despite having stacks of stuff like these, I thought this was going to be something fun & inclusive, encouraging as many as possible to both enter/vote, and all be in with a chance:

 OK have revised it for you.. See if it covers what you were wanting now.. I am just trying to keep it relaxed as you say you all want...
I did say we would be having separate voting threads for the classes too you know... :D
