Anyone going to this show this year??? I hope to be but not sure if I'll make the 3hour journey there. Have booked my tickets and hired a mobility scooter so I'll apologise in advance if I run anyone over by accident :hehe:

Oh thanks LMRR, its a bit too far for me, I'd be interested to hear what its like though. I've been to Hampton Court and Chelsea Flower Shows these last couple of years and the crowds are just getting bigger and bigger - which spoils it for me really.

"Chelsea Flower Shows these last couple of years and the crowds are just getting bigger and bigger"

I thought they limited the numbers at Chelsea now?

It hasn't seemed anything like the crush it used to be 20 years ago ... although the queues for the little show gardens are silly, and I haven't got the patience.

I don't think my DW was planning to go this year, but I could skive off :) if there was a chance to meet some of you lot? (Chelsea I mean, rather than Gardeners World, sorry wondered sideways off topic!)

Yes I do believe the tickets are limited, but its still absolutely packed. I love looking at the show gardens but the queueing and jostling are unpleasant.

You need to go to the Harrods sale then ... that would sharpen your elbows :) (Well, so my Mum tells me!)

Well I was nearly bowled over by a little old lady half my size and on crutches last year at Chelsea, she was a seasoned professional who knew exactly how to work her way through the crowds and get to the front ;)

My Mum only uses sticks, so I guess she must have "tooled up" for Chelsea, eh?!

We will be at Gardeners' World Live for sure! We have a feature garden this year called "Learning From Africa." Absolutely everything is recycled in the garden and it's packed full of great ideas to help people make the best of their resources - growing in mall space (bag gardens/keyhole gardens), organic tips -plant tea, composting, we're even thinking of having goldfish in the water butts (they poo and make the water full of nutrients for you to water the plants with...!).

People will also have the chance to win the recycled scarecrow in the show garden (made by Riverford) and an African farmer will be coming over to the show so people can talk to someone first hand about African techniques.

I've wanted to go for a few years now and have just been looking at prices, I think the entry is reasonable it's just how much it would cost me to get there, I'm looking at another £20 for the train although not looked at coach prices.

    really want to go
