could anybody give me any advice as to where i can buy gardenia seed please-and-ummm-are they difficult to grow! i smelt one at the garden centre and thought it really lovely.
Chiltern Seeds have a couple listed but it would be much quicker to buy a plant, I think it could be a couple of years or so before you see any flowers. Although I've not tried it myself.
Morrisons have plants in flower in stores now. Be aware though that they are the most difficult plants I know. It likes it damp, but not too damp, it also likes it dry, but not too dry. It likes hot temperature, but not too hot, it likes it cool, but not too cool. It likes it light, but not bright and it likes it shady, but not too dark. Then when you've got it just right and the flower buds are swelling....they drop off.
